Now That’s a Fine Looking Scullery…

What is a “scullery”? It is a room in a house traditionally used for washing up dishes and laundering clothes, or as an overflow kitchen when the main kitchen is overloaded. Tasks performed in the scullery include cleaning dishes or cooking utensils (or storing them), occasional kitchen work, ironing, boiling water for cooking or bathing, and soaking and washing clothes. In North American this term has fallen out of favour and generally has been replace with butler’s pantry.

Old North Cottage

Our client asked us to help them update their small Old North Cottage that they had been renting out to students. They decided to move in and needed a new kitchen and bathroom, as well as as fresh coat of paint everywhere. We were able to pull all of this off in about five weeks. Once we started the demolition, it was obvious that the wall between the kitchen and dining room just had to come down. What a difference! Take a look at the finished project…
