Now That's A Fine Looking Scullery

What is a “scullery”? It is a room in a house traditionally used for washing up dishes and laundering clothes, or as an overflow kitchen when the main kitchen is overloaded. Tasks performed in the scullery include cleaning dishes or cooking utensils (or storing them), occasional kitchen work, ironing, boiling water for cooking or bathing, and soaking and washing clothes. In North American this term has fallen out of favour and generally has been replaced with butler’s pantry.

When the clients purchased this home, the existing kitchen footprint was just too small for their needs, so they had us turn it into this fantastic scullery with stainless steel counter tops and a custom stainless steel sink, laundry centre, more cabinets than most kitchens, dishwasher, fridge and even a garburator. This room has direct access to the formal dining room and the main kitchen. Look for the kitchen in one of our other project listings. It’s incredible.
